Testimonials

Find out what people enjoy the most about Tahoe Bike Co.
"Passed by this gem on the way to Sprouts and saw they had surreys for rent and decided it would be a good addition to our trip! No regrets because it was so much fun! We took our puppy in the basket with a blanket laid out for her. We biked to the beach lookout down the street and all the way to the ice cream parlor nearby all within an hour rental!"
Christine D.
North Valley, San Jose, CA
"Great customer service! We had a large group, and they were very accommodating. Kids had a blast riding the surrey bikes."
Cupertino, CA
"Came here after visiting two other bike shops because this place has the best selection of bikes! We wanted a tandem and they are the only place that has them. The check in process and paperwork was smooth and easy and we got on our tandem in no time."
Alex L.
Sunnyvale, CA
"Electric Bikes! Telling my husband to give up that Segway dream (it ain't happenin' Joe!) because this is the way to travel. We had a gorgeous day, helpful guy at the Bike shop and fun morning cruising and biking around neighborhoods, parks and the lake. Great birthday surprise for our girl Sheryl!"
Susan K.

"Fantastic location and experience. Rent your bike here because it's in the center of everything. This bike rental shop is across the street from the city park and perfect for jumping onto any of the regional bike trails or highway bike paths."

FAQs

Below you'll find some of the most frequently asked questions.
Visit our FAQs Page for more answers.

Do I need to make a reservation in advance?

While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend booking in advance, especially during weekends and holidays to guarantee availability, particularly for DeLuxe E-bikes and Fat Tire E-bikes

What should I bring with me for my ride?

We suggest bringing sunscreen, water, comfortable clothing, and a phone or map if you're exploring longer routes. Helmets and locks are included with all rentals but feel free to bring your own.

Are helmets required?

Helmets are required for riders under 18 and strongly recommended for all riders, particularly for Fat Tires E-bikes. We provide them free with every rental.

Can kids ride their own bikes or ride along with an adult?

Yes! We have kid-sized bikes as well as trailers, tag-alongs, and child seats so the whole family can enjoy the ride together.

What types of bikes do you offer for rent?

We offer a wide range of top brand bikes like Aventon, Fuji, or BESV, including all-trail and comfort e-bikes, fat tire e-bikes, surrey bikes for two to four adults (plus a couple of young kids!), kids’ bikes, and tandem bikes. A variety of accessories, such as child seats and picnic baskets, are also available.

Where can I pick up and return the bike?

Bikes can be picked up and returned at our main shop location. We also offer scheduled drop-offs for added convenience for a $15 fee per bike. Please contact us in advance to arrange a drop-off

Can I rent a bike for a week or longer?

Absolutely! We offer discounted multi-day and weekly rental packages. Contact us for long-term rental inquiries.

Are Electric Bikes difficult to ride?

Not only E-bikes are not difficult to ride but they make it easier, for example to get the bike going at a green light, to climb a hill, or to go much further than on a regular bike with a lot less effort, thanks to the electric power boost.

Do you sell bikes?

Absolutely! We sell bikes and e-bikes from top manufacturers like Aventon, Fuji, or BESV. Our prices will never be higher than what's available for retail on the manufacturer web site. We can sell bikes we have in inventory or order a bike directly from the manufacturer for you. If so, we will assemble the bike, insure it is functioning properly and service the bike over its long life time. Finally, we have a large inventory of perfectly functioning used bikes which we can sell at heavily discounted prices. Just ask what we can do for you!
